What to Expect
This is how the 7:00 PM show runs. The 4:30 PM and 9:30 PM shows follow the same format, 2.5 hours earlier or later.
Important: The show starts at 7:00 PM sharp. Latecomers will not be admitted until the first interlude at 7:30 PM. Please plan for Lagos traffic and arrive by 6:30 PM.

The quartet takes the stage. Doors close at exactly 7:00 PM. No entry after this point until the first interlude. Please silence your phone.

What exactly is a string quartet?
It is four musicians playing live — two violins, one viola, and one cello. They play classical pieces, contemporary covers, and Nigerian music all arranged for their instruments. Fully live, no backing track.
What happens if Lagos traffic makes me late?
We strongly advise you to leave home at least 1.5 to 2 hours before your show. Once the performance starts, doors close. Latecomers are only let in during the first interlude at 7:30 PM. This policy is strict and applies to everyone including VIP.
Is parking available at Civic Center?
Yes, Civic Center has an on-site car park. It fills up quickly on show nights so arrive early. We also recommend using a driver or ride-hailing service so you are not stressed about parking.
Can I transfer or get a refund on my ticket?
Tickets are not refundable but you can transfer your ticket to someone else up to 48 hours before the show. Simply send us their name and contact via WhatsApp and we will update it.
Can I bring my child?
Candle & Strings is strictly an 18+ event. This is due to the nature of the experience, including alcohol being available at the venue. Anyone who appears under 18 will be asked to present a valid ID at the door. Guests who cannot confirm they are 18 or older will not be permitted entry regardless of ticket type. We have a strict policy on this and no exceptions will be made.
Is seating assigned or first-come?
Seating is first-come, first-served for each session. Early arrival is strongly advised.
What time should I arrive?
We strongly recommend arriving 30 minutes before your session start time. Latecomers will not be admitted until the first interlude.
How long is each performance?
Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes of live music, including two short interludes.
Are the candles real?
For safety and comfort, all candles are high-quality flameless (plastic) candles, carefully styled to create a warm candlelit atmosphere.
Is this event suitable for proposals?
Yes — by arrangement only. Only three proposal slots are available for the entire evening. Uncoordinated or spontaneous proposals are not permitted.
Is food or drinks included?
Drinks are included for VIP and Platinum VIP ticket holders. For all other tickets, drinks are available for purchase at the venue. Food is not included.
What should I wear?
Elegant evening wear is required. For women: midi or floor-length dresses, structured cocktail dresses, elegant jumpsuits. For men: suits or tailored blazers, dress shirts with trousers. Casual attire will not be permitted.
What kind of music will be performed?
The quartet will perform classical, contemporary, and Nigerian songs. There will also be a solo piano performance and a special surprise add-on — all performed live.
How many people does a ticket admit?
Each ticket admits one person only.
How do I receive my ticket after purchase?
You will receive a confirmation email and a digital ticket with a QR code immediately after payment. It does not need to be printed.
What if I don't receive my ticket email?
Please check your spam or promotions folder first. If you still cannot find your ticket, contact us on WhatsApp and we will assist you promptly.
If I book VIP, can I get front-row seats?
VIP seating is first-come, first-served, so front-row seats cannot be guaranteed. For first or second row seating, Platinum VIP is recommended.
Will there be other editions?
Yes — future editions are planned for August, October, and December.
